War Remnants Museum delivers a somber account of the horrors of the Vietnam War and other wars of colonialist aggression that have plagued the Vietnamese people. The museum's exhibits may contain a heavy dose of one-sided anti-American sentiment, but they well represent residual American--and other foreign--weaponry and the destruction it wreaked. Look for the French guillotine used to execute prisoners and for the unexploded ordnance stored in a corner of the yard. Very good museum. Very instructive. When you get out, you have learnt, you have felt, your guts have felt. No Interactivity, lot of reading, but great pictures, good photography. Comments on every pictures are full of details, about the context and the feeling too. I had regular expectations, for a regular museum. I found it mind blowing, and spend a good 4 to 5 hours in there. I felt something in my guts. A must do to "appreciate" the war in all its ways , details and history/context

Great collection of images, artifacts, and information about the war. Have rarely seen more informative museums. However, the museum has a practice of closing at 11.30am and reopening at 1.30pm so if you're in the middle of your tour you have to get out. The museum staff don't tell you that in advance and neither does the timing mentioned outside the museum. Understand that staff needs to have lunch in which they could do shifts or advise on the time in advance and not let visitors in after a certain time.
