At Victoria and Albert Museum, see the world's largest decorative arts and design collection. The museum's 145 galleries span 51,000 sq m (12.5 acres), so you won't be able to see it all in a single visit. Look over a floor plan and decide which rooms interest you the most. You have 5,000 years worth of art to choose from, including ceramics, glass, textiles, ironwork, sculptures, furniture, photographs, and more, from all parts of the world. At 80,000 objects, the ceramics collection is the world's largest and features pieces by famous potters such as William De Morgan and Bernard Leach. In the British galleries, keep an eye out for Henry VIII's writing desk, which dates to 1525. The jewelry collection includes an emerald necklace that Napoleon gave to his adopted daughter, Hortense de Beauharnais, in 1806. Wonderful exhibitions, staff very helpful. Lunch was excellent, extremely large portions, good value for money, but if I’d known you get 2 huge wraps and 2 salads for the price we would have only...

I agree that the Faberge exhibits were fabulous but the presentation was very poor at times especially in the first room. The opening room in any show is busy before visitor numbers thin out so why...

Had a lovely time strolling around here on Saturday. Was quite crowded but not too bad. Still areas to sit with no people and didn't have to queue for the toilets or cafe or anything. Sitting in the garden courtyard was amazing as the weather was so nice. There's a massive pond and water fountain so if you've got young kids bring their swimmers and a towel so they can have a dip on a hot day. The cafe and gift shop are mega pricey but that's to be expected. It's easy to get lost in the maze of it all and you'll definitely double back on yourself but the sculptures and the grandeur of the place.... It's really impressive. Look up at the ceilings. They're stunning. Have to pay for some exhibitions but general admission is free... Just make sure you book in advance. A great day out for sure.

The V&A is a wonderful museum. It is easy to get from the tube station at Waterloo. It is a marvellous place to visit, so much to look at. I would advise anybody visiting to give themselves plenty of time. If you want to have a meal there is a beautiful cafe, the old cafe and the new, stunning. The food is good and reasonably priced. The map is well laid out, if you want to see everything, start at the top and work down. All together a brilliant place to visit.
