Create an itinerary including Temple of Apollo
Feel the enormous weight of history at the ancient ruins of Temple of Apollo on the Side peninsula. Dedicated the Greek god of light and sun, the temple has a counterpart dedicated to Athena, and both were constructed around the 2nd century CE. Take in a view of the harbor from here and appreciate the intricate detailing of the marble. While most of the temple lies in ruins, the remaining columns and foundation make it easy to imagine how this impressive temple would have once appeared. • Absolutely loved this ancient city. Remarkable archaeological site with some stunning intact architecture. Unfortunately extremely tacky fake designer shops mar the whole experience. Please move them....  more

  • Beautiful landmark. Definitely worth visiting and close to the beach, restaurants, bars and shops (don't get ripped off at the shops!). There are also boats which you can go on a cruise in around the harbour but have a look around and see if there's any that offer a cheaper price. This landmark is also in walking distance of the Ancient Theatre 👍. You could easily spend a few hours here and it would be worth it.
  • Beautiful Roman architecture. Must see if you are a fan of ancient architecture in this region or in total. Side is amazing place, one of my favourite visited so far. After walk and all sight seeing you can chill in nearby cafe or take a boat trip which at the moment some are offered as 2.99€ per person.
