Reach the upper levels of the community for expansive views of the city, the bay, and the surrounding landscape with Tarihi Asansor. The original elevator was built in 1907 and transported people and goods to the upper quarters of the city, allowing them to bypass the steep cliffs. It has since been replaced by a modern elevator, but the structure remains the same. Take it up for some great photo opportunities, or sit down for a drink and a bite to eat at the outdoor restaurant located at the elevator's exit--one of the city's fanciest. There is no charge to visit this site. Bring a jacket, as it can get fairly breezy on top. See Tarihi Asansor and all Izmir has to offer by arranging your trip with our Izmir trip planner.

Wonderfull scape. A cafe with reasonable prices. Mostly helpful workers. Definately a should-go place.

It was great experience. We went there in May time. There are no price charges for using the lift. I’ll suggest going this place in morning time because you’ll not get any rush and easily get the lift. We were here around 10 am and used the lift. There is nice view upstairs and restaurant too which is very good and cheap prices also have great view. Do not use the lift when coming down instead use the stairs. You’ll enjoy the view and the residential are upstairs. Love it.

Great view, some cool stairs at the top with art on them, cafes at the top and bottom depending on where you like to eat, and open restrooms :) My only improvement could be to add more windows on the ride up, and extend the walkway around the elevator so more people can fit on it. But worth a visit if you're in the area, a quick 20-30 minute activity. Also it's free, that's always nice!
