Perge Ancient City
Visit the remains of the ancient city of Pamphylia at Perge Ancient City, where Saint Paul preached his first sermon in 46 CE before embarking on his journeys. Pass between the massive antique gates and stroll down the remnants of a colonnaded boulevard to a nymphaeum--a shrine dedicated to nymphs--which lies on the slopes of the acropolis. Dating back to the Bronze Age, the acropolis offers encompassing views of the ruins. The site also includes city walls, a theater with a 52 m (170 ft) stage, a stadium, an agora, a necropolis, a gymnasium, and Roman baths. Join a guided tour to learn historical details about the site. To visit Perge Ancient City on your holiday in Antalya, and find out what else Antalya has to offer, use our Antalya.

Fantastic site, would have liked a guided tour but there was no one available. However the guide book proved useful - such an interesting site and well worth a visit

Amazing place. If you know just a tiny little bit of ancient times you will be amazed. So big city. That you can walk through just like living there. I can imagine how spectacular it was 2000 years ago... I wish it is restored bit more so you can go inside houses 🏘 and so... Definitely need more time to spend there , breath the air our ancestors did, feel the sun they felt, and walk just like you live there....

This is a hidden gem that we highly recommend carving out time for if you're in Antalya! It was so conveniently located from the airport we almost didn't stop thinking it might not be worth it. We are so glad we did! One of the best ancient cities we've seen in the world. We spent a good deal of time here and would do it again. Don't miss it!
