Mozirje — 7 nights

Nature lovers can spend much of their Mozirje vacation hiking or cycling the tracks and roads of the flat areas around town.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Peca Underground - Tourist Mine and Museum and Velenje Museum. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at The Coal Mining Museum of Slovenia and Hugo Wolf's Birth House. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Mozirje: Slovenj Gradec (Carinthia Regional Museum - Slovenj Gradec, Church of St. George, &more), Plečnik Monument (in Črna na Koroškem) and Black Hole Trail (in Mežica). On the 29th (Sun), enjoy a perfect day by the water at Velenje Beach. Ljubljana to Mozirje is an approximately 1.5-hour car ride. When traveling from Ljubljana in January, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Mozirje: temperatures range from 1°C by day to -6°C at night. You will leave for Maribor on the 1st (Wed).

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.

You can drive from Maribor to Bovec in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and car; or do a combination of shuttle and bus. Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from Maribor in February: highs in Bovec hover around 3°C, while lows dip to -3°C. You will leave for Bled on the 19th (Sun).

The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
