Lilongwe — 6 nights

The capital city of Malawi and its largest, Lilongwe serves as an important center of economy and transportation for the area.
Take a break from Lilongwe with a short trip to Chongoni Rock Art Area in Dedza, about 1h 15 min away. There's much more to do: stroll through Lilongwe Wildlife Centre, browse the different shops at Old Town Mall, catch all the local highlights with See Malawi Travel, and pause for some photo ops at World War I Memorial.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Lilongwe is an approximately 20-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Amsterdam to Lilongwe. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 14th (Sun) to allow time for the flight to Likoma Island.

Zomba is a city in southern Malawi, in the Shire Highlands. Explore Zomba's surroundings by going to Queen Victoria Memorial Tower (in Mangochi) and Lake Chilwa (in Kachulu). The adventure continues: head outdoors with Zomba Plateau and pause for some photo ops at King African Rifles Monument.
