Goreme, Cappadocia — 5 nights

Famed for its landscape of unusually shaped stone formations and churches cut into the natural rocks, Goreme sits in the central part of the country, an area originally settled during Roman times.
Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Zelve Open Air Museum and Kocabag Winery. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Mount Erciyes and Zemi Valley. When in Goreme, make a side trip to see Erciyes Ski Resort in Kayseri, approximately Kayseri away. Muscat, Oman to Goreme is an approximately 11.5-hour flight. The time zone difference moving from Gulf Standard Time (GST) to Turkey Time (TRT) is minus 1 hour. Traveling from Muscat in January, expect Goreme to be much colder, temps between 5°C and -4°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Thu) to allow enough time to fly to Selcuk.

Selcuk — 3 nights

An ideal base camp for exploring the Aegean coastline, Selcuk draws big tourist crowds due to its proximity to the ancient city of Ephesus.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Forum Aydin and Maket Koy. Kaplankaya Winery and Turkish Bath Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. It doesn't end there: get a dose of the wild on Troy Tours and take an in-depth tour of Selcuk Efes Kent Bellegi-History Museum.

Traveling by flight from Goreme to Selcuk takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Goreme in January, things will get somewhat warmer in Selcuk: highs are around 13°C and lows about 2°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Sun) early enough to drive to Pamukkale.

Pamukkale — 3 nights

A popular spa since the second century BCE, the modern city of Pamukkale continues to draw worldwide attention with its hot springs and travertines--naturally formed calcite bathing pools.
Pamukkale Winery and Hierapolis are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Head to Forum Camlik and Teras Park Alisveris Merkezifor plenty of shopping. Step out of Pamukkale to go to Denizli and see Tripolis Antik Kenti, which is approximately 34 minutes away. There's more to do: push the limits with an extreme tour and stop by Babadaglilar Ishani.

Edirne — 4 nights

Edirne is a city in the northwestern Turkish province of Edirne in the region of East Thrace, close to Turkey's borders with Greece and Bulgaria. Head to Edirne Saray Sekerleme and Erastafor some retail therapy. Selimiye Mosque and Istasyon Caddesi are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Go for a jaunt from Edirne to Kirklareli to see Ataturk Evi about 1 hour away. There's lots more to do: soak in style at Saray Hamami, pause for some photo ops at Balkan Sehitligi, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Eski Cami, and steep yourself in history at Beyazit II Mosque Complex.
