In a city bubbling with life, a Kinshasa vacation offers a non-stop immersion into African culture and history.

On the 2nd (Thu), admire the natural beauty at Symphonie des Arts, tee off at Cercle de Kinshasa, and then take in the architecture and design of Kinshasa University. Expect slightly colder weather when traveling from Kinshasa in March: highs in Bujumbura hover around 32°C, while lows dip to 26°C. You can drive from Gitega to Kigali in 4.5 hours. Expect little chillier evenings in Kigali when traveling from Gitega in March, with lows around 19°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Fri) to allow enough time to fly to Kampala.

Kampala enjoys the reputation of a modern city with a buzzing atmosphere--it also serves as a good base point for exploring the surrounding area.

Traveling by flight from Kigali to Kampala takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. The time zone difference moving from Central Africa Time (CAT) to East Africa Time (EAT) is 1 hour. Traveling from Kigali in March, expect a bit warmer with lows of 23°C in Kampala. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Sun) early enough to catch the flight to Nairobi.

You're likely to visit Nairobi at least once on a trip to Kenya, as the sprawling city houses the country's international airport and remains the jump-off point for many tours and safaris.

Fly from Kampala to Nairobi in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Kampala in March, expect slightly colder with lows of 20°C in Nairobi. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 15th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Dodoma.

You can drive from Nairobi to Dodoma in 10.5 hours. In March, daytime highs in Dodoma are 34°C, while nighttime lows are 22°C. You will leave for home on the 18th (Sat).
