Get out of town with these interesting Zurich side-trips: Lucerne (Lake Lucerne, Rigi, &more). Spend the 4th (Mon) in the animal kingdom at Zoo Zurich. The adventure continues: explore the activities along Lake Zurich, get to know the fascinating history of Old Town, admire the masterpieces at Museum of Art (Kunsthaus Zurich), and see the interesting displays at Augusto Giacometti Entrance Hall.

Traveling from Kathmandu in April, expect nights in Zurich to be little chillier, around 5°C, while days are cooler, around 17°C. The capital and political center of Switzerland, Bern sits on a peninsula formed by the U-shaped River Aare.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bern: Ambra Minerals (in Murten), Grindelwald (Bachalpsee Lake, Grindelwald-First, &more) and Chateau de Chillon (in Veytaux). Getting from Zurich to Bern by train takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 17°C in April, and nighttime lows around 3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Sun) to allow time to drive to Geneva.

Geneva brings the world to one small city with a huge expat population and the highest number of international organizations in any one city.
Step out of Geneva with an excursion to Montagne Magique Ski School in Haute-Nendaz--about 1h 50 min away. Drive from Bern to Geneva in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In April, plan for daily highs up to 19°C, and evening lows to 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Fri) to allow enough time to fly back home.
