Zaandam is a city in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Zaanse Schans and Duinreservaat Castricum. You'll explore and learn at Zaans Museum and Museum van het Nederlandse Uurwerk. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Zaandam: Strand van Castricum (in Castricum) and Alkmaar (Alkmaar cheese market & Het Beatles Museum). Traveling by train from Brussels to Paris takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. When traveling from Brussels in August, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Paris: temperatures range from 29°C by day to 16°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Sun) early enough to fly back home.
