Nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the heart of the Jungfrau region, Interlaken became popular for its proximity to the mountains and lakes of the Bernese Oberland region.

Varenna, Italy — 2 nights

Varenna is a comune (municipality) on Lake Como in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60km north of Milan and about 20km northwest of Lecco.Varenna was founded by local fishermen in 769, and was later allied of the commune of Milan. Start off your visit on the 9th (Tue): admire the landmark architecture of Villa del Balbianello, pause for some serene contemplation at Chiesa di S. Leonardo, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di San Giacomo. On the next day, admire the striking features of I Giardini di Villa Melzi, explore the world behind art at Villa Carlotta, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa di San Giorgio, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at S. Giovanni Battista.
