Tamarindo — 4 nights

Surfing remains the main reason to take a trip to Tamarindo, as the beachside town is mostly known for its excellent waves.
Get in touch with nature at San Juanillo Beach and Playa Conchal. Step off the beaten path and head to Horseback Riding Tours and Ohana Photo Shop. Venture out of the city with trips to Playa Conchal (Arenas Blancas & Playa Mina) and Playa Danta (in Las Catalinas). There's still lots to do: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, look for gifts at Urban Eclectic Jewelry, stroll through Playa Avellana, and enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Langosta.

A seaside resort town with plenty of entertaining distractions along its attractive coastline, Jaco has long been a major tourist destination on the central Pacific coast.
On the 8th (Thu), look for gifts at Dantica Gallery, then stroll through Royal Butterflies, then get a new perspective on things with Boat Tours & Water Sports, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Jaco Beach.

Manuel Antonio — 3 nights

The rainforest meets the sea at Manuel Antonio National Park, a small but scenic natural preserve on the west coast of Costa Rica.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Playa Espadilla Norte and Isla Damas. Visit Playa Manuel Antonio and La Playita for some beach relaxation. A long-established beach community, Playas del Coco has developed a reputation as a favored spot for young travelers and locals to let loose by the sea.
