Tela — 2 nights

The beach town of Tela has a reputation for being a little more rough and ready than similarly sized coastal settlements in the country.
Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Sun): explore the wealth of natural beauty at Punta Sal National Park and then enjoy the sand and surf at Punta Sal. On your second day here, stroll through Lancetilla Botanical Garden.

You can drive from Copan Ruinas to Tela in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of bus and taxi. Expect somewhat warmer temperatures when traveling from Copan Ruinas in July; daily highs in Tela reach 90°F and lows reach 74°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Mon) early enough to travel to Utila.
