The largest city on Canada's eastern coastline, Halifax boast a rich maritime history and occupies a strategically important location with one of the world's greatest natural harbors.
Venture out of the city with trips to Swissair Flight 111 Memorial (in Indian Harbour), Peggy Of The Cove (in Glen Margaret) and Peggy's Cove (William E. deGarthe Memorial Provincial Park & Peggy's Cove Lighthouse). There's still lots to do: brush up on your military savvy at Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, stroll around Leighton Dillman Park, get a sense of history and politics at Province House, and steep yourself in history at Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21.
