Ischgl — 1 night

Ischgl is a town in the Paznaun Valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Kick off your visit on the 4th (Thu): look for all kinds of wild species at Rosengartenschlucht and then get in on the family fun at Alpine Coaster. Here are some ideas for day two: trek along Senn's Wonder Walking Trail, then stroll through St. Anton, and then fly down the slopes at Ischgl-Samnaun ski area.

Kitzbühel is a small medieval town situated along the river Kitzbuhler Ache in Tyrol, Austria and the administrative centre of the Kitzbühel district. Kids will appreciate attractions like Grossglockner and Natural High Adventure Tours Ltd. Kufstein Fortress and Hexenwasser are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get out of town with these interesting Kitzbuhel side-trips: Kalser Glocknerstrasse (in Kals am Grossglockner), Hintersteiner See (in Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser) and Walking Trails (in Mayrhofen). And it doesn't end there: explore the activities along Schwarzsee, grab your bike and head to SportRudi, take in the dramatic scenery at Sintersbacher Wasserfall, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Dieters Sportsshop.

You can drive from Ischgl to Kitzbuhel in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and train. Plan for slightly colder nights when traveling from Ischgl in August since evenings lows in Kitzbuhel dip to 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Tue) early enough to drive to Innsbruck.
