Create an itinerary including Vila Vella (Old Town)
The only example of a fortified medieval town still standing on the Catalan coast, Vila Vella (Old Town) is full of narrow, cobbled streets. Inside its stone walls, discover a medieval hospital, remnants of a Gothic church that appear to have been built upon an earlier Romanesque church, and the municipal museum. Walk up to its highest point, where the lighthouse stands, and appreciate the broad views of the town and coast. A steep climb up is required to reach the site on foot, or you can take the small tourist train up to the top. Enjoy Catalan food in one of the many cafes and restaurants. • Tossa de mar old town is really nice and worth exploring. It's hilly so be aware. Great views from the top. The ava Gardiner statue was interesting.

  • this town is sensational, with a seaside promenade and too many restos to choose from. We had a large dinner between 7 people and i baby, with plenty of wine and it was 200 euros. You cant beat that.

  • A lovely place to visit. 14th century medieval fortified town is fabulous to explore. You can take a little train to the top and back for €6. Some beautiful views from the top. Lots of nice little restaurants along the beach front and within the old town walls.
  • Tossa de Mar, the only fortified town in Catalonia left in its integrity exactly as it was build in 1186. It's simply Fabolous! The sea is crystal clear. The town is lovely. The castle is uniquely positioned on the rock forming a peninsula and having on top a lighthouse. What a wonderful place to stroll on the alleys and discover food, culture, and meet different people from all around the world. Extraordinary!
