A very interesting place. Lots of fascinating information on historic aspects in numerous electronic presentations, the castle itself and the personalities involved. The display of old and more recent canons is a small gunnery lesson. Splendid views over the city, the port and the whole surrounding area. The place is scrupulously clean and well kept. I found it a few hours very well spent.

Do. The. Tour 🙏 Nice experience and a lot to see. Highly recommend doing the tour. Not only will you learn more about the castle, but you'll also be able to go places in the castle where you otherwise wouldn't. Plus, it was only 3€ more. Staff is nice, tour was fun, atmosphere good. Also recommend bringing some shade for when exploring the top of the castle.
