Memorial to the National Liberation Battle in Dražgoše, Železniki

Route 635 was good fun on the motorbike and came across this place in the middle of nowhere. Excellent piece of work. I asked about 8 young people at the campsite all Slovenian and none had even heard of it. How sad.

A solemn space with a traumatic story about WW2 Nazi occupation and executions in Drazgose. The monument is In fantastic condition (no graffiti) and in a beautiful setting with the mountains in the background. The tile mosaic is a compelling part the story. There is a small parking lot.
