    My wife and I visited here after touring the mercury mine. The mine tour is a little better but I recommend seeing both if you have time. We toured the facility on our own for about 30-40 minutes...

    A very interesting exhibition about mercury ore smelting and mining in Idrija. There are a lot of superlatives about the mercury mine in Idrija and the environmental impact 500 years of mining left behind. The exhibition that shows what mercury used to be used for is also amazing. The guides are wonderful and they know how to present the story of their town. Very recommended!

    We visited it today and we highly recommend it, as much for the exhibition content than for the guide who explained us everything about mercury with humor, passion and pedagogy.
