Built into a steep cliff above the lake, Bled Castle offers magnificent views of the small island on the lake, two nearby towns, and the surrounding mountains. German Emperor Henry II donated the castle buildings, arranged around two courtyards, to the bishop of Brixen in 1011. These days, discover the museum collection presenting the history of Bled, its culture and people. Learn about traditional hand-printing techniques at the Bled Castle Printing Works and print your own memorial document. Visit the wine cellar and ask the monks to tell you stories about the castle and Slovenia's wine regions. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Julian Alps from the castle's terraces. To get to the castle is quite easy during winter season. Parking just few steps from the castle was also possible during this time and it was free. Castle is large and provides beautiful view to the lake, island and and mountains 🏔 around, the landscape around is really amazing. Our kids enjoyed the visit and the view too. You can buy tickets online or at the place, kids until 4 are free of charge. There were also a lot of visitors with dogs.
This place has arguably the most spectacular views of the lake. It's a beautiful castle and is tastefully converted into a tourism destination. Entrance fee comes with a glass of wine at the cellar. It's surprisingly steep so maybe wear shoes with a good tread. Also, it looks like Hogwarts at night. If I was royalty this is where my castle would be.
