Europejskie Centrum SolidarnoSci
Celebrating the bravery of the Polish solidarity movement, Europejskie Centrum SolidarnoSci includes exhibition halls, a theater, and impressive architecture. Reopened in 2014, the attraction's building is as much a reason to visit as the engaging exhibits. Designed to resemble a ship's hull, the structure pays tribute to its location in the shipyards. Inside the "ship's hull," historical exhibits tell the story of Poland's fight against Russia through videos, audio recordings, and documents accompanied by visuals and interactive displays. Visit the attraction's website for a calendar of upcoming events and to purchase tickets in advance. Work out when and for how long to visit Europejskie Centrum SolidarnoSci and other Gdansk attractions using our handy Gdansk tour planner.

If you only have time to visit one museum in Gdańsk, CHOOSE THIS ONE! We absolutely LOVED this museum, it truly blew us away. The audio tour was outstanding, so easy to follow, so informative and well laid out. My husband knew very little about the solidarity movement and walked out so amazed. The interactivity of the museum is excellent and again, so easy to follow. You are completely immersed in the time period and transported to each moment through both audio and visual prompts. More museums should use this as a model. Highly, highly recommend.

I really liked this museum. Learned a lot about Polish history and the Solidarity Union. The audio guide was great. Spent much more time here than expected. One tip: the audio guide also has an interesting part if you take it with you on the roof terrace.
