Create an itinerary including Church Of St Peter And St Paul
Considered perhaps the pinnacle of Baroque church architecture in Lithuania, Church Of St Peter And St Paul offers visitors the chance to see a wealth of ornate decoration and more than 2,000 carved stucco figures. Finished in 1701, the church and its grounds are ringed by a high wall and several smaller chapels. Enter the main basilica to see its brilliant white interior replete with reliefs, paintings, and columns. Wander inside and explore the different chapels, connected along the perimeter of the building with a series of aisles. Watch for the skeletal statue of Death, a grim reminder of mortality included by the designers of the church, placed among statues of Jesus and other religious figures. • One of the must-see churches if you come to Vilnius and want to discover the marvels of the architecture. It is even called the most beautiful church of Vilnius.

  • This is the church to visit if you are going to see just one church in Lithuania. The outside facade is plain, but inside it is an architectural beauty. It's truly a structure of arts.
  • The front facade is all covered due to renovations, but inside is beautiful and well worth the detour. As slightly out of the way I was the only one there.
