  • Yaynal Mosque is a very beautiful place you can enter the mosque and see inside but you have to take off your shoes cause it's a sacred place.
  • The Taynal mosque in Tripoli is visible from afar, as it is common practice in the Islam, to call the faithful to prayer: its turquoise domes invite you to come closer to admire it better. Built around 1336, it was probably situated within a large citrus garden with fountains that enhanced its sacredness. Today, however, it is surrounded by concrete and old buildings, abandoned to their fate. The interior betrays ... its Christian and pagan origins: it was a church belonging to the Carmelite monks and before that a Roman temple dedicated to Zeus, known here as Baal. Byzantine and Roman granite columns adorn its interior, which also features a beautifully crafted mirhab and marble floors to enhance its forms.
