Doge's Palace
Take a behind-the-scenes look at how Venice used to be run at Doge's Palace, which once served as the residence of the doges, the city's chief magistrates. Regarded as a masterpiece of Venetian Gothic architecture, the palace is now a popular museum, attracting more than 1 million visitors each year. Works by such artists as Titian, Veronese, Tiepolo, and Tintoretto fill the interior. You can explore the monumental council chambers and richly decorated residential suites where major decisions affecting the city's fate were once made. Look in on the grim prison cells where the doges' political opponents were often locked away. A ticket for the nearby museums also grants access to this palace. Explore your ticket options online, and book well in advance to avoid standing in long lines. Our Venice trip itinerary planner makes visiting Doge's Palace and other Venice attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

On the pricey side for what you get but it is Venice so everything comes at a premium. Enough things to see and admire to keep you entertained for a couple of hours or longer. Good insight into life when the Palace was fully functioning. I enjoyed it but will not be one for all the family, certainly not at the price. If you like art it is recommended. Some nice views from the top too.

It's an epic palace, can't miss visiting this full of Venetian history and interesting stories place. Well worth the time and foot pain! Plus it's really something else to check the bridge of sighs from the inside, and also to visit the biggest palace hall in Europe(in photo). And all this finely decorated with paintings and lots of other treasures of the great Venetian artists. I recommend a guided tour and also buy tickets in advance with fast entrance. Amazing palace!
