Explore the Basilica di Superga to discover the tombs of many princes and kings of the House of Savoy. The church you see here today is a result of a promise Duke Victor Amadeus II of Savoy made in September 1706. He climbed a hill and saw Turin besieged by Franco-Spanish forces. He swore that, in case of victory, he would have a monument built to the Virgin Mary on the very hill where he stood. Climb the church's spiral staircase for views the city and, on clear days, the Alps. Take a guided tour for access to special areas. Always a great place to come, relax and enjoy great views of Turin. This is a quick getaway place from the main city. The drive upwards is good, but I recommend you to take the train which is very scenic and a great experience. The church has very specific timings for the holy mass, which I’m not sure of. But the inside of the church is very beautiful and has a lot of tourists visiting when it is open. I have been here numerous times, it’s just a very nice place.
Beautiful and charming place. With the right person has also a romantic atmosphere. Here you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the entire city of Turin and beyond you admire the Superga Cathedral. Must To visit. it's also a good place near turin, where escaping the air pollution of the metropolitan city. Remember that will always be almost 2/3 degrees less than in town, so it's better bring a scarf with you.
