Completed in 1348 by the Siena's medieval rulers, Torre del Mangia is a symbol of the city at the Palazzo Pubblico. Marvel at the 88 m (289 ft) tall tower, a well-preserved example of Italian Gothic and secular architecture. You can climb 400 steps to the top of the structure for views of the city and Tuscan countryside. The staircase may be a challenge for people with mobility, cardiovascular, or claustrophobia issues. • The view is amazing but is the 400 steps up and then 400 steps down worth it. This is a very steep and narrow climb. It gets steeper and narrower the higher you go. Half an hour to get to the top and....  more

  • It's great to climb the tower. Amazing view from the top. Only 14 people are aloud up at the same time, every 45 minutes. Come at 10 am or earlier to buy the tickets
  • A good experience when in Siena with great views. Go and buy your tickets ahead of time. Bought ours in the morning and didn’t get to go up until 2 PM. Be warned they only give you 10 minutes when you make it to the top. Kind of a shame they don’t let you take more time to snap pictures of the gorgeous views after such a strenuous climb.
