After having paid 2 euros per person, we were allowed access to this ancient castle. We were the only visitors today, so plenty of space to spend the afternoon, walking around, and enjoying the views.

Like many things in Italy, closed midday so we could not visit, but walked around the outside and enjoyed feeling the history

Set on top of beautiful Monte Sant Angelo the castle is a nice 20 minute walk and an interesting plunge into the past. I recommend reading up a little about it's history before entering.
