Very relaxing and uncrowded place which you unexpectedly find among 30 years old concrete buildings. Fortunately the church has been saved and helpful and friendly volunteers are there to help.

If you go to Matera, you should pass by!! Its beautiful and peaceful! The guide Michaela is super friendly and even took me to downtown to show me around!

Interesting structure, rich in frescoes, some clearly visible, others partially compromised by infiltrations. The chapel envelops the visitor with beautiful images, full of symbolism, taking him back in time. A well-kept oasis, but not very visible, wedged in the middle of tall modern buildings.

Beautiful and evocative complex: garden with olive trees, turret, underground rooms, cistern and above all the rock church with well-preserved frescoes. Brava and very kind Michela, the guide, who opens us without having booked the visit.
