Museo della Carta
Museo della Carta is a museum set in a 13th-century paper mill, where you can learn about the history of paper and how it was once made. The oldest structure of its kind in Europe, this mill still features working original paper presses, and you can even create your own paper. Learn about processes like cotton-based and wood-pulp paper production during a tour of the site. Before you leave, you can purchase stationery in all kinds of designs. I did this today and am excited to immediately write a review for it. Granted -- the museum is not large. As a result, the tour is not very long. Nevertheless, I'm very glad to have paid the extra...

Paid for the museum, expecting it would be a self-guided walk through as a quick stop in town. Once I'd paid the woman at the front desk told me I would need to wait 10 minutes for the tour to start. A further 20 minutes went by and no one showed up. When I said I no longer wanted to go on the tour and just to use the amount I paid toward an item in the gift shop, she said she would need to check with her boss. Then proceeded to do nothing? And just serve other clients. After nearly 30 minutes of waiting for what was meant to be a quick stop, I didn't receive my money back or any explanation and left.

Worth a visit. If you are around in Amalfi, go there. It is not a museum but an experience: you can try and make your sheets of paper. You also understand how high-quality paper industry started in middle ages.
