The Roatan Chocolate Factory, Roatan

Being a chocolate fanatic, this was obviously my first stop in Roatan. Super friendly staff, gave a wonderful presentation on how they make their chocolate, and they give free samples so you can find which chocolate you like best/compare!! Honduran chocolate has a different flavor than any American or European chocolate that I’ve had before, it may not be for everyone. But I loved it!

It smells amazing from across the street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They offer free samples. We took a tour of how the chocolate is made from start to finish. The tour is free but please tip the tour guide. We did and we bought chocolate. You have to buy the chocolate tea. It's fantastic. They also offer breakfast and lunch. A definite stop on your trip to Roatan. You'll be glad you did. The best part is that they use some of the profits to protect their endangered wildlife. Bravo.
