Volcano Toliman, San Lucas Toliman

Tolimán Volcano looks different depending on where you see it. My first glimpse from a viewpoint above Panajachel made me think it conical. But over by Santiago Atitlán it is more elongated and ridge like. In any case, it is big. It thrusts up from Lake Atitlán almost a verticle mile. Had I had more time, I would love to take the hike to its 10361 foot summit. Further west from it is the larger, more conical Atitlán Volcano at 11,598 feet. From the east shore of Lake Atitlán, Tolimán obscures Atitlán making them look like one peak.
