    We walked the long trail and enjoyed every minute of it! We arrived too late to see a Quetzal, and I think they would be pretty hard to spot anyway, but it was still a gorgeous walk.

    Our visit to this park, en route towards Coban, just resulted in a 2-hours walk inside this small preserved part of the Guatemala forest. This would definitely be an excellent experience with a guide....  more

    That location is not the entrance to Biotopo. The Main entrance in located just next to the Ranchitos del Quetzal. For the price of 60Q (for foreigners) is definitely not worth it. If you want to see Quetzals, you can do in ONLY around December-January. In other months, it’s just a nice hike in the cloud forest. Also Be aware that the park is opening now at 8 am (NOT 7:00) so definitely too late for birds watching.
