Create an itinerary including Cerro de la Cruz
Embark on a short but steep walk to Cerro de la Cruz, a landmark of Antigua. The ascent takes you to a scenic lookout point, complete with a large cross statue made of stone, dedicated to the city’s patron saint. From the viewpoint perched on the hilltop, you can enjoy the postcard-like vista of the city, with the imposing Volcan Agua in the background. Robberies in the once notorious area have declined thanks to improved security, but it's best not to attempt the ascent alone or at night. • A nice spot from where you can have cool views of the volcanos that surround Antigua city and the city itself. Many people come here to do some exercise, like running, jogging etc… They sell some traditional food in little stands. we bought some fresh coconut water. It was perfect for the hot weather. They keep this place clean, we like this very much and also parking is perfect.
  • Great spot to get a good view of the city and take cute pictures! Don't do what we did though: Take the same way back because the paths that look like a trail don't lead to the city. You'll end up in a person's backyard in the woods and it's very awkward to ask them to go through their private property.
