Create an itinerary including Tamarindo Beach
Enjoy the wide, golden sands of Tamarindo Beach and watch as surfers take on the waves. Pop into one the beach bars to enjoy a cold drink, or check out what the vendors are peddling. If you’re interested in learning to surf, the beach provides easy going waves, perfect for beginners. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available for hire, but you might miss out on them unless you arrive early; consider bringing your own sun protection, as there's no natural shade at the beach. If you arrive at the right time, you can also enjoy a famous sunset from the shore. Plan to visit Tamarindo Beach during your Tamarindo vacation using our convenient Tamarindo itinerary builder app.

  • Close to amenities, steps from restaurants and cafés (Pico Bistro is highly recommended), replete with shops ranging from souvenirs, to apparel, to outdoor outfitting, and close to accommodations...

  • The beaches in Tamarindo are beautiful, and varied. If you want all sand, there is a beach for that, volcanic rock or sea shells, they have that. And waves for surfing/boogie boarding galore!

  • Nice beach where you can sit and watch the people riding the waves ( or join them). The sunset is really beautiful and you can see hundreds of people sitting on the sand to watch it. There are souvenir sellers but I didn't feel harassed.
  • Lots of shops in the area. Beautiful beach. Parking along the beach available. Not sure if the guys with reflector vests are actual attendants . I tried to park at once area was told $10. I pulled out and parked just a short distance away was told $5. We dined at restaurants near the beach. Dining just a couple blocks away from the beach offers better deal. Tamarindo sign is at the south end of C Central
