Create an itinerary including Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo
Explore Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo, a lush tropical rainforest that draws visitors for trekking and observing exotic plants and wildlife. Overlooking the dense green landscape, the inactive Barva Volacno--a peak of 2,906 m (9,534 ft)--supports an extraordinary biodiversity due to the range of altitudes, from the high altitude Volcán Barva to the humid lowlands on the Caribbean slope. Trek among 6,000 species of plants, or take the aerial tram for 2.6 km (1.6 mi) which glides you smoothly through the treetops. You'll find an abundance of wildlife in this habitat, with over 500 bird species and 150 mammals. Watch for white-faced monkeys, jaguars, bare-necked umbrellabirds, the common tink frog and the largest venomous snake in Costa Rica--the matabuey. • We booked a 6 in 1 tour package and had a great time. Our guide Fabian was awesome, friendly and funny. He had an assistant, but can't remember his name also very nice. The park is very pretty and the staff super friendly. Highly recommend you go and do some of their tours.
  • Absolutely beautiful place all the way to the lagoon which is the old volvano caldron. Be prepared for a rustic experience with only partially paved roads and very limited parking close by, have good hiking shoes and lots of water cause there is almost none too be found at the park. Well worth it to see the area great view and fun hikes. Took us several hours to get back to the closest town then long time from there to San Jose.😎😎😎
