Founded on a donation from Fernando Botero, one of Colombia's celebrated artists, , Museo Botero del Banco de la Republica has quickly grown into a must-see attraction in Bogota since its inauguration in 2000. The small but captivating museum features 123 paintings, drawings, and sculptures by Botero himself, as well as 85 pieces by other artists. Housed in the Banco de la Republica museum complex, the museum adds a splash of Botero's distinctive style to its classy surroundings. It is one of Bogotá's best museums. The art collection is very complete but not huge. In my opinion the paintings and sculptures are exceptional. And as if that were not enough, the entrance is free..... more

WOW! The Botero Museum was such a great place to visit while my stay in Bogota. I had a smile ear to ear as I walked through the museum and see one great art piece after another. It made me so happy to be there and see what great work the artist Botero has compiled. Make sure you stop by and appreciate his work. Some are really big and I was left astounded by his creativity and talent. I am a huge fan of Botero. Thank you! I am very fortunate to visit this museum.

Never heard of this artist before but now I won't forget him. Fun, unique works in beautifully designed museum. Enjoy the walkable area around the museum as well. Very photogenic.
