  • Signage is all about first Scots arriving in Canada but no mention of honouring Indigenous people who had to cede territory. Wake up Canada!

  • Disappointing. We came here to see replica of Hector ship. Unfortunately, it fell into disrepair only 20 years after it was built. Seems like 18th century shipbuilders had better skills than 21st century ones. It really is a shame. Renovations are scheduled to last until 2023. Museum, however, is worth a visit. Description of 1773 Hector journey is well done.
  • A must go for those in Pictou who want some deep history in the ship Hector and it's passengers. The museum is beautiful and make sure to check out the wood worker and the blacksmith. I was able to pick up some blacksmith pieces which I love!
