At William deGarthe Art Gallery, discover the artwork of a Finish-born painter and sculptor who immortalized landscapes and people of Peggy's Cove. The gallery occupies the artist's former home and features a permanent collection of 65 paintings and sculptures donated by the artist's wife in 1993. Some of the paintings have a historic value since they depict the vanishing way of seafaring life and traditional fishing methods. Look for one of the artist's most famous pieces--a painting of a schooner cutting through thick fog. Note that none of the works is for sale. The unfinished 31 m (100 ft) long granite sculpture in the backyard is known as "Fisherman's Monument." I went there in the early 2000s there was a painting called lady in the water? anyone know where I can find a print. lady was laying in dark water.
