An oasis of greenery in the heart of a big city, Biodome de Montreal allows you to journey through the varied ecosystems of the Americas. Originally erected as one of the venues for the 1976 Olympic Games, the building now features exhibits showcasing the natural world of North and South America, including rainforests, subpolar islands, and the Atlantic oceanfront. Five different ecosystems within the biodome support thousands of plant and animal species, including reptiles, birds, mammals, and amphibians. Explore the various sections with ease on a self-guided audio tour. Special audio guides for children are available. Closed for renovations until summer 2019. Put Biodome de Montreal into our Montreal driving holiday planning site to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Montreal.

Visited the Biodome for the first time and it was a fantastic experience. It was such a great time looking at different animals. They are so adorable. The space is very well structured and there is a lot of walking involved so be prepared. Some sections are way hotter as the temperatures are maintained such for the animals. So its a challenge to walk around with heavy winter jackets. My most favourite were the Penguins & Otters! A must-visit with family & friends!

Amazing experience. Lots to see and totally worth it. We loved the penguins the most and went at feeding time which was interesting to see. The Lynx and otters were close seconds. The app didn’t seem to do much for me and wasn’t worth the download unless you want to learn more about the animals. I was very hot throughout most of the visit, unclear if because of temps inside for the animals or because there were a lot of people, or both. Would recommend dressing light. I liked how open it was.
