McNabs Island (formerly Cornwallis Island) is the largest island in Halifax Harbour located in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, Canada. It played a major role in defending Halifax Harbour and is now a provincial park. • This is a great place to visit. We paddled over and had a great day of exploring, Geocaching, and hiking. I will go again. Not too busy as it's not easy to get to. You just need to plan your day...

  • We took the McNab's Island Ferry with Captain Mike from Eastern Passage. He told us a lot about the provincial spending on the island and where exactly our tax dollars were going, which was pretty...

  • Beautiful and calm place to be
  • This is a great affordable family adventure. It's easy to access... just hop a boat ride from fisherman's cove in Eastern Passage. The cost is around 20.00 for 4 pple. The boat drops you off at one end, and the friendly captain gives you lots of instructions and a map on how to get to your pick up point. You will experience old military structures, beaches, wildlife and 3 large lovely abandoned homes. The whole hike takes about 1.5-2 hours to complete. Highly recommend.
