We loved the cannon shooting at noon... the staff were really informed. We loved the bagpipes as well. Great family outing.

We spent a good portion of the day today at the Citadel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We saw many exhibits as we walked the large property. The Army museum was very well done. There can be some issues for folks with mobility issues, that may inhibit parts of the Citadel. There is a lot of steps and loose gravel walking situations. So take caution in your footing. It is windy up on the hill. You may want a light jacket if you get cold easy. Parking may be a little difficult in some instances. And with parking and admission, this isn't an inexpensive museum. But it also isn't drastic if you spend some time there. All in all a nice way to spend some time in Halifax.
Great museum with tons of history. A decent walk from downtown, and climb up is very steep. Plan 2 hours or so at minimum since you can lose track of time reading up. They have some events every few minutes or so (change of station, etc.) The folks who work there are very informative and are happy to answer any questions. Don't miss the Noon Gun at 12pm.
