Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site
Find out how the telephone was invented by visiting Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, which includes a museum dedicated to the life and career of the famous innovator. Established in 1954, the museum overlooks Bell's summer home in Beinn Bhreagh, which is privately owned by his descendants. View a collection of Bell's artifacts, photographs, and personal items, see films and models of his inventions, and admire a life-size replica of a hydrofoil boat. The grounds are open to the public and make a great place for a walk or a picnic, while the museum often organizes workshops and interactive activities for children. learn detailed information about life of Alexander Graham Bell and his family and personal life. How his inventor skills formed up throughout his life and how he put them to work on each corner point of his life, even his marriage to a hearing impaired girl. Museum is well designed but seemed a little small to me. I was expecting a bigger exhibition, however Location is an amazing choice. Great vista point. Building is designed with A frame large wood beams and you can see triangular shapes all over citing his usage of tetrahedron in his works. Site is surrounded with a wonderful garden and landscaping. I was expecting to see more of his personal belongings and literature. Also presentations should be improved and live presentations should be spiced up for young generation. Anybody below 30 will not show any interest on this kind of presentation

Very educational tour, lots to learn and see. Great idea to bring children or school groups/tours. If you are in Nova Scotia, give it a look! "The site features artifacts donated in 1955 from the Bell family's personal museum. The site also features memorabilia associated with Bell's experiments, it contains the largest repository of artifacts and documents from Bell's years of experimental work in Baddeck."
