KZ-Gedenkstatte Mauthausen shares the story of a concentration camp, introduces you to its inhabitants, and takes you on a journey through their lives and deaths. Although the exact number of deaths is unknown, it's estimated to have been between 122,700 and 320,000. Walk through interpretive exhibits with more than 100 original objects, plus 30 videos and audio interviews with survivors and witnesses. You'll be able to pass through rooms where inmates from more than 40 countries lived, as well as through gas chambers where they were suffocated and crematoriums where bodies were disposed of. it's a really impressive place to visit, it's well maintained. The memorial park, you'll walk through before you enter the camp, is beautiful. You can also download the app where you can see the route and get an audio at different places in the camp that'll give you more information about the very spot you're standing at. I'm glad I visited Mauthausen Memorial, it's a must.

Very impressive place to visit. It is well documented. The guide is an app on the phone. It works excellent. It really shows the atmosphere of the time the quarry and camp were a bad place to be. Bring some good walking shoes, read the Wikipedia and don't forget to drive down to see the stairs and quarry from below.
