Matt ‘Gantos’ Gant and John ‘JR’ Retsas are two mates with a lifelong commitment to making kick-arse booze. These are wines with flavour, texture and a splash of funk, made from an eclectic bunch of varieties grown in unique patches of the Barossa, Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale. In short… Mother’s Milk

First Drop’s wines are enjoyed worldwide by a growing army of First Drop Disciples in markets from Beijing to Texas and everywhere in between!

  • There was nothing redeeming about our visit to First Drop. The wines were mostly undrinkable, except for the Mothers Milk which was pretty average. The vibe was of a cheap, long forgotten outback...

  • We booked the Tapas lunch today, Firstly we had very yummy bread, olives, cold meat as starter. Second were the leather jacket fish and calamari. The calamari were lightly fried and very fresh...

  • Fabulous must visit place in the Barossa. You may not get the Vally views and country feel, but you get very decent wines, super friendly staff and delicious tapas. They are friendly to dogs also. All in all, great for tastings and lunch
  • As a part of my Sperm Donation Australia tour of South Australia 🇦🇺 I headed out to the Barossa Valley and the 3rd stop I stumbled across this little beauty, loved the rustic feel of the venue with a dash of funk added to it. The wines were really smooth and enjoyable, and the host Olivia was really accommodating.
