Naracoorte Caves National Park
The 26 caves of Naracoorte Caves National Park have preserved a huge collection of fossils, and the park’s Wonambi Fossil Center offers tourists a rare chance to see what this part of the world was like nearly 200,000 years ago. The park, situated in the Limestone Coast tourism region, became a World Heritage Area in 1994. Though the caves are the area’s most notable attraction, the park itself is a tourist destination, with camping grounds, dormitory accommodations for large groups, picnic areas, and a small café. Explore the underground world of Australia’s caverns on a guided tour, led by expert cavers familiar with ancient fossil deposits, and don’t miss the famous Bat Cave, where thousands of bats breed each year. We experienced the 4 cave tours and fossil centre and enjoyed them all. Glad we did all of them as they all offer something uniquely different. Not sure if I could choose a favourite out of Alexandra.... more

We enjoyed our visit from the caves so much. It was our first time there and the guided tour was very informative .it was not too crowded on the day. Alexandra Cave is so beautiful, an amazing magical wonderland underground. Would highly recommend a visit specially if you have a child. many things to learn from this explor. we loved it and it was a good experience overall.

Fantastic place for families! Would recommend to stay the night as a day trip will not let you experience everything. Friendly and experienced staff. The caves are beautiful and easy to walk! Visited the Alexandra Cave and the Victoria Fossil Cave which were both so amazing. !!! Not wheelchair or pram accessible, you need to be able to walk up and down high stepped stairs if you intend to visit !!!
