Create an itinerary including Fremantle Prison
On the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of 11 Australian Convict Sites, Fremantle Prison paints a vivid image of the country's penal-colony history. Convicts built the prison in the 1850s. Today you can explore the prison on a guided tour, including a torch-lit option. Navigate tunnels 20 m (65 ft) beneath the ground on foot and by boat. The prison art gallery sells pieces created by current and ex-prisoners in Western Australia. • Did Behind the Bars Tour and then the Tunnels tour. They were both fantastic. Behind the Bars with Mannie was so informative and really gave you a feel of what it was like. The Tunnels Tour was something different. I was a little nervous with dodgy knees but no issues with the ladders and boats. Sarah, Benny and Simon were the best! So full of information and history, so supportive and also hilarious. Highly recommend.
  • Our family thoroughly enjoyed the day. We did 2 of the 3 available tours and the information didn't have much cross over, which was good. We thought it was good value for the day; $124 for 6 of us: 2 adults & 3 kids (great that their family price is for 2 adults & 3 kids as well, as usually it's only for 2 kids). Having a large family We appreciated this.
