Find serenity in Adelaide at the Himeji Garden. Japanese sister city, Himeji, presented the gardens as a gift in 1982, and landscape architect Yoshitaka Kumada visited a few years later to upgrade the layout and bring the design into line with the principles of a traditional Japanese. Take a self-guided tour of the sansui mountain and lake garden and of the karensansui dry rock garden. Try to arrive early if you want the gardens to yourself, and don't forget your camera. • Found by chance, peaceful and beautiful oasis, beautifully maintained. Small but perfect. There was one part being renewed but did not detract from the tranquillity of this small garden.

  • These Japanese Gardens are one of my favourite, free “go to” outings in Adelaide! Very pretty. Well maintained. Small and peaceful. Free street parking available. Situated in the south parklands...

  • This is a beautiful Japanese garden. Good place for photos. A calm and quiet place for you to have a lovely walk during the day. The landscape is lovely and well done. There’s ample enough parking that lasts for 10 hours. Not busy at all even during weekends.
  • A calm and relaxing, beautiful garden with a picturesque landscape. This is a great place to visit if you want an hour of relaxation. There is ample enough free parking around this place on street. Even certain spots allow 10P free parking during the weekends. The place is not busy, but you’ll find people dropping by frequently. There’s no separate place for animals to be off leash. But you can bring them for a walk.
