Turisur Navegando la Patagonia
Revel in the picturesque mountain scenery as you cross between Argentina and Chile with Turisur Navegando la Patagonia. The tour company specializes in boat tours, traversing Naguel Lago Huapi to take visitors to some of the region's best sightseeing spots. You can also join one of the company's hiking tours, which navigate impressive trails to mountains such as Cerro Catedral and Cerro Trondar. Guests who speak at least a bit of Spanish will get more out of the tours, as many of the operator's guides speak only limited English. Bariloche is an incredible place, we loved the ferry ride, the visit to Victoria Island and the Forest walk. The scenery is really beautiful.

The booking process was easy, but they don't explain to you how the excursions work, so on the day of the excursion you present yourself by the pick up point and wait for a long time for a small white van to call out your name. The person by the office on the pick up point was not helpful or nice to provide information as to when the van would arrive, she just kept saying "you have to wait". It was 8am at -2°, and there were elderly couples waiting in the cold for over 30 minutes. What they don't tell you when you book the tour, is that they use independent tour buses to do the excursion, and these buses have to go all over the town picking up people from hotels before they arrive at the main pick up location. I'm giving them the stars because the independent tour guide Turisur hired was really nice. If you are planning to book a tour with them, make sure and ask them specific questions about the times and process.

This is one of the most disorganized, oversold, and disappointing tours I've ever been on, anywhere. The pictures on the brochure are stunning and anyone who you ask (who went when they were children) say it's amazing. The problem is, almost the entire forest of special trees is dead and the color which should be a beautiful cinnamon is grey. Now for the experience, Patagonia is beautiful and some people can ignore the terrible delays, way overcrowded boat, and the continuous sales pitches while on board. If you're not one of those people and you say something, the staff lies directly to your face. They say the follow local guidelines for ticket sales, and I'm sure that is true. But those guidelines are meant for modern passenger ferries. This boat is old (which is beautiful) but means you run a riak of not having a seat for the 1-2 hour trips. Or is you have one, it's likely without a view of anything. Don't bother getting there early the day of your excursion-- they change and reorder the lines as they feel like it and it's all a huge jumbled mess anyways. It's really a terrible experience. The saving grace is the tour, supposedly, (the forest has been widely published as dieing since at least 2013) it's the Victoria island. This is like any other place anywhere in Patagonia. It is not worth the money or the time. Save yourself the stress, discomfort, and negative experience-- don't buy turisur.
