Albania's largest museum, Muzeu Historik Kombetar has seven pavilions of exhibits. You'll spot the attraction by the large mosaic above the front entrance called "The Albanians." Each pavilion showcases a different period in Albania's history from antiquity to communism. In the antiquity pavilion you'll see objects from prehistory to the Middle Ages, including tools from daily life, coins, and base reliefs. As you move forward in time, the exhibits get more political, celebrating Albanian independence and decrying abuses from outside nations. Beyond the socio-political history, there is also an iconography exhibit with notable works by local artists and a large exhibit sharing Albania's story from World War II. Nice museum about the history of Albany. There was not much in english. Sad, because the ant-communist movement and the the rebellion from its citizens against government looked really interesting...

Nice museum. It is large, so I would recommend to clear up your time for the next 2 to 3 hours. The contents were very interesting, although drying the Zog family era there was no documentation just a few slides. But be careful since some artifacts are not protected by anything so it is very easy to break something, even unintentionally. Overall nice museum. The gift shop is very interesting with antique scarfs and more.

Would be nice if there were more explanations in English.
